Just ten days into President Trump's mass deportation operation, a Republican congressman is already throwing cold water on the administration's efforts to remove illegal immigrants from American communities.
Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-CA) appeared on CNN International's "The Brief" Thursday, where he told host Jim Sciutto that ICE officers shouldn't be "setting up in or outside of schools" during deportation operations. The California Republican's comments come as Trump's ICE agents are finally free to do their jobs after four years of Biden's catch-and-release policies.
"📢BIG BREAKING: GOP Rep. Kiley: ICE Doesn't Need to Set Up Outside of Schools," reported @Expeditiousfeed on social media, highlighting the congressman's opposition to aggressive enforcement.
This is exactly the kind of weak-kneed Republican response that allowed the immigration crisis to spiral out of control in the first place. While Trump promised Americans he would launch the largest deportation operation in history, Kiley is already carving out "safe spaces" for illegal immigrants.
Missing the Point Entirely
Here's what Kiley doesn't seem to understand: illegal immigrants don't get to pick and choose where they hide from federal law enforcement. If criminal aliens are dropping off their kids at American schools, that's exactly where ICE needs to be. These aren't "immigrants" – they're foreign nationals who broke our laws to enter our country illegally.
Trump's ICE under Tom Homan isn't playing games. They're systematically removing the millions of illegal aliens that Biden welcomed with open arms. But comments like Kiley's give Democrats and their media allies ammunition to attack the president's agenda.
Patriots across America voted for mass deportations, not mass excuses. They want ICE agents empowered to enforce our immigration laws wherever criminals might be hiding – whether that's at schools, workplaces, or anywhere else.
The question is: will more Republicans follow Kiley's lead and start undermining Trump's deportation promise? Or will they remember that securing our border and removing illegal immigrants is exactly what voters demanded in November?
