Former CNN propagandist Don Lemon has been caught red-handed trying to weaponize the First Amendment to excuse what appears to be criminal behavior – and his pathetic defense exposes the left's complete contempt for both constitutional principles and religious freedom.
Following his indictment by a grand jury for allegedly intimidating worshippers during private religious services, Lemon is desperately claiming his disruptive actions were protected speech. But this bogus constitutional argument is so dangerous it could literally excuse ANY criminal behavior if taken to its logical conclusion.
Grand Jury Sees Through the Lies
The facts are damning. As legal observer @rrbelloff pointed out on social media, while Chuck Schumer claims Lemon's arrest represents "pure authoritarian bile" and a "dark message to journalists everywhere," the reality is far different. "IN FACT, a grand jury indicted Lemon for 'overt acts' to 'intimidate' people in the 'free exercise' of the 'First Amendment right of religious freedom,'" the tweet revealed.
Think about that for a moment, Patriots. Lemon allegedly violated OTHER people's First Amendment rights – their freedom of religion – then had the audacity to claim HIS behavior was protected by that same amendment. The hypocrisy is staggering, even by leftist standards.
Constitutional Scholar Destroys Lemon's Defense
Renowned historian Victor Davis Hanson delivered a crushing blow to Lemon's fake constitutional claims, arguing that prosecution is necessary to send a clear message. As shared by @JasonJournoDC, Hanson stated: "You have to prosecute Don Lemon to say to all people: you can't go into someone's private religious observance and then disrupt it and say that that is an expression of the First Amendment rights of free speech — and that you can proclaim yourself a journalist."
Hanson hit the nail on the head. Since when does calling yourself a "journalist" give you a license to commit crimes? This is the same twisted logic the mainstream media has been peddling for years – that their press credentials somehow place them above the law that governs ordinary Americans.
Dangerous Precedent for Criminal Behavior
Here's what's truly frightening about Lemon's defense: if accepted, it would create a constitutional loophole big enough to drive a truck through. Want to trespass on private property? Just claim you're exercising free speech. Want to harass people at their workplace or home? Simply declare it protected expression.
This is exactly the kind of fake constitutionalism that's poisoning our republic. Leftist activists and their media allies consistently twist our founding principles to justify behavior that would land any regular American in handcuffs.
The Trump-Vance administration has made it clear they won't tolerate this two-tiered justice system anymore. If Don Lemon broke the law, he should face the same consequences as any other American – regardless of his media connections or political alignment.
Will this case finally establish that the Constitution protects law-abiding citizens FROM disruptive criminals, not the other way around?
