After years of dodging accountability, billionaire Leslie Wexner was finally dragged before House Democrats this week to answer for his suspicious relationship with convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. But the 88-year-old former Victoria's Secret CEO's excuses are raising more red flags than ever.
Wexner, who claims he was somehow "conned" by Epstein despite giving him unprecedented control over his vast fortune, previously suggested the dead pedophile was "demonically possessed." Really? That's the best defense this billionaire can come up with?
During Wednesday's questioning at his Ohio mansion, Wexner whined that he's been the subject of "outrageous untrue statements and hurtful rumor, innuendo, and speculation." He insisted he was "naive, foolish, and gullible to put any trust in Jeffrey Epstein."
"I was naive, foolish, and gullible to put any trust in Jeffrey Epstein," Wexner said in his prepared statement.
But here's what doesn't add up, folks: How does someone build a multi-billion dollar empire by being "naive and gullible"? Wexner didn't become one of America's richest men by accident. He gave Epstein power of attorney over his finances and allowed him to operate with extraordinary freedom within his business empire.
The timing of this House investigation is interesting too. While President Trump's administration is busy draining the swamp and going after real criminals, Democrats are finally getting around to asking tough questions about Epstein's network of elite enablers. Better late than never, we suppose.
The Demon Defense Doesn't Add Up
Patriots deserve answers about how deep this corruption goes. Wexner's claims of being an innocent victim ring hollow when you consider the massive financial entanglement between his companies and Epstein's operations. The American people have waited long enough for accountability from the elites who enabled one of the worst predators in modern history.
Will we ever get the full truth about Epstein's network of powerful friends? Or will billionaires like Wexner continue hiding behind claims of demonic possession and naivety?
