The Trump Derangement Syndrome epidemic claimed another victim Wednesday when CBS News correspondent Ed O'Keefe made such a fool of himself during the White House press briefing that even his own colleagues in the press corps started laughing.
The cringe-worthy moment unfolded when O'Keefe challenged Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to provide examples of President Trump being "falsely called racist." The question came after Trump posted a tribute to Jesse Jackson, stating he had been wrongly smeared with racist accusations throughout his career.
But here's where it gets good, Patriots—O'Keefe apparently forgot that we have thing called the internet, where Trump's decades of public service and relationships with Black leaders are thoroughly documented.
Leavitt didn't miss a beat, systematically dismantling O'Keefe's gotcha question with actual facts. She could have mentioned Trump's lifetime achievement awards from Black organizations, his close friendships with Black celebrities and athletes, or his criminal justice reform that freed thousands of wrongly imprisoned Americans—many of them Black.
"The audible chuckles from other reporters said it all," noted one observer. "Even the liberal media couldn't keep a straight face watching O'Keefe embarrass himself like that."
This is what happens when legacy media reporters live in their own echo chambers for so long they forget basic reality. O'Keefe walked into that briefing room thinking he was going to trap the Press Secretary, but instead revealed just how disconnected from facts the mainstream media has become.
The Real Story They Won't Tell You
The fake racism narrative against Trump has been one of the left's most desperate and dishonest attacks for years. They've thrown everything at this man—Russia hoaxes, impeachment charades, criminal prosecutions—and when all else fails, they scream "racist!"
But Americans saw through it all, which is exactly why Trump is back in the White House with a mandate to drain the swamp and restore common sense to our government.
When even your fellow liberal reporters are laughing at your questions, maybe it's time to find a new line of work, Ed. Just saying.
