Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent isn't backing down from President Trump's America First trade agenda, boldly predicting "no decrease" in tariff revenue for 2026 despite the Supreme Court's 6-3 ruling against using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) for tariffs.
Speaking on Fox News Channel's "The Will Cain Show" Friday, Bessent made it crystal clear that the Trump administration has plenty of tools in the toolbox to keep America's trade warriors fighting for working families β with or without the deep state's favorite emergency powers loophole.
Trump Team Finds Another Way
While three liberal justices and their RINO allies on the Court tried to handcuff Trump's trade agenda, Bessent's confidence signals the administration already has backup plans to keep the tariff machine humming. After all, this is the same president who negotiated the greatest trade deals in American history during his first term while the establishment told him it was impossible.
The Supreme Court's ruling represents yet another example of how the swamp β including certain so-called "conservative" justices β continues trying to sabotage Trump's efforts to put American workers first. But if there's one thing we've learned about this president, it's that he doesn't take no for an answer when it comes to defending America's economic interests.
"The Trump administration has consistently delivered on promises to level the playing field for American manufacturers and workers, and that won't change now."
America First Means America First
Bessent's unwavering commitment to maintaining tariff revenue proves this administration understands what voters demanded in 2024: an end to the globalist trade policies that shipped American jobs overseas while enriching China and corporate elites.
Patriots can rest assured that President Trump and his team will find every legal avenue to protect American industry from unfair foreign competition. The question isn't whether Trump will deliver on his trade promises β it's how quickly he'll outmaneuver the Washington establishment trying to stop him.
