Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) just let the cat out of the bag during NewsNation's State of the Union coverage Tuesday, inadvertently admitting what conservatives have known all along - Obamacare is a complete disaster that can't survive without massive taxpayer bailouts.
The former DNC chair desperately claimed that extending tax credits is needed to "make sure that the Affordable Care Act policies remain affordable." Wait, what? If the ironically named "Affordable Care Act" was actually affordable, why would it need billions more in tax subsidies to remain... affordable?
This is the same failed logic that got us into this healthcare mess in the first place. Democrats promised Americans they could keep their doctors, keep their plans, and save $2,500 per family. Instead, premiums skyrocketed, deductibles became unaffordable for middle-class families, and millions lost their coverage entirely.
The Truth Behind the Democrat Desperation
Wasserman Schultz's admission reveals the panic setting in among Democrats as President Trump's second-term agenda takes shape. With Republicans controlling Congress and the White House, the days of endless taxpayer-funded bailouts for failed progressive programs are numbered.
"The Democratic Party's agenda is to extend tax credits to make sure that the Affordable Care Act policies remain affordable," Wasserman Schultz said, apparently oblivious to the contradiction in her own words.
This is classic Democrat economics - when your socialist program fails, just throw more taxpayer money at it and hope nobody notices. Meanwhile, hardworking American families are struggling to pay for basic healthcare while their tax dollars prop up a system that has enriched insurance companies at their expense.
Under President Trump's America First agenda, we're seeing real solutions emerge. The administration is focused on price transparency, increased competition across state lines, and putting patients back in control of their healthcare decisions - not government bureaucrats.
How many more billions will Democrats demand to keep their healthcare boondoggle alive? And why should taxpayers foot the bill for a program that has made healthcare LESS affordable for most Americans?
