In a display of stunning arrogance that would make even the most shameless politician blush, Rep. Al Green (D-TX) actually compared himself to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks after getting himself thrown out of President Trump's State of the Union address Tuesday night.
Yes, you read that right, Patriots. This Democrat lawmaker seriously believes his disruptive behavior during the President's address to the nation puts him in the same category as genuine civil rights heroes who fought actual injustice and oppression.
Green was ejected from the House chamber after repeatedly interrupting Trump's speech with outbursts and protests, turning what should have been a solemn moment of national unity into his own personal political theater. But rather than showing an ounce of shame or respect for the office of the President, Green doubled down with his outrageous comparison.
The Audacity is Breathtaking
Think about this for a moment. Dr. King led a movement that transformed America through peaceful resistance against actual systemic oppression. Rosa Parks took a courageous stand against real injustice that sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott. These were Americans who sacrificed everything for genuine civil rights.
And Al Green? He threw a tantrum because he doesn't like the democratically elected President delivering a constitutionally mandated address to Congress.
"This is what happens when you have lawmakers who care more about political grandstanding than serving the American people," one Republican aide told reporters after the incident.
This is exactly the kind of delusional behavior we've come to expect from the radical left. They've become so unhinged by Trump's success that they're willing to disgrace themselves on the national stage, then have the nerve to compare their childish antics to actual heroes.
The American people see right through this pathetic display. While President Trump laid out his vision for continued prosperity and security, Democrats like Green proved once again they have nothing to offer but obstruction and delusions of grandeur.
How long will voters in Texas's 9th district tolerate being represented by someone who thinks disrupting the State of the Union makes him a civil rights icon?
