The world changed on Saturday morning. After 47 years of Iranian terror, hostage-taking, and the murder of American citizens, President Donald J. Trump did what no other commander-in-chief dared to do: he cut the head off the snake.
Operation Epic Fury — a joint U.S.-Israeli military campaign of overwhelming precision and power — has eliminated Iran's nuclear threat, destroyed its ballistic missile arsenal, degraded its terrorist proxy networks, and most significantly, killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The architect of four decades of death and chaos is now answering to a higher authority.
And Iranian-Americans? They're dancing in the streets.
"We want to say thank you to President Trump. This is the only person who has supported us in the last 50 years," one Iranian-American declared. Another was moved to tears: "I don't know how to thank President Trump. I am speechless."
Peace Through Strength — Not Empty Words
For decades, American presidents kicked this can down the road. They imposed sanctions that the regime laughed off. They negotiated deals — like Obama's catastrophic Iran nuclear agreement — that only bought Tehran more time to develop weapons capable of annihilating Israel and eventually reaching American shores. They drew "red lines" that meant nothing.
President Trump is different. When he draws a line, he means it.
"President Trump has given every opportunity for the regime in Iran to come to the table and make a reasonable deal," noted Victoria Coates of the Heritage Foundation. "The Iranians now know that they're defenseless."
Senator Lindsey Graham didn't mince words on Meet the Press: "The mothership of terrorism is sinking. The captain is dead. The largest state sponsor of terrorism — Iran — is close to collapsing... Well done, President Trump."
Bipartisan Recognition of Historic Action
Even some Democrats can't deny reality. Senator John Fetterman, breaking from his party's predictable hand-wringing, declared: "Operation Epic Fury. President Trump has been willing to do what's right and necessary to produce real peace in the region. God bless the United States, our great military, and Israel."
Representative Greg Landsman, another Democrat, acknowledged the obvious: "For most of my life, the regime in Iran has caused bloodshed and mayhem. At some point, we have to say enough is enough."
But make no mistake — most Congressional Democrats, as Representative Brian Mast warned, "are going to line up next week and say, 'We don't want the President to have any authority to defend the United States of America against the imminent threat of Iran.'" Predictable as always.
The World Stands With America
Our allies understand what's at stake. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and leaders from Albania to Kosovo have voiced their support. Even Ukraine's Zelensky recognized the moment: "It is important that the United States is acting decisively. Whenever there is American resolve, global criminals weaken."
Saudi Arabia condemned Iran's aggression and pledged full solidarity with Gulf nations targeted by the dying regime's desperate final strikes. The coalition President Trump has built stands in stark contrast to the isolation and weakness of the Biden years.
A Doctrine That Works
Commentator Marc Thiessen captured the magnitude: "Donald Trump has just taken his place alongside Reagan & FDR as one of the most consequential presidents in American history. Many have occupied his office, but there are only a handful whose courageous leadership has quite literally reshaped the world."
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo agreed: "President Trump has acted to do no less than to preserve Western civilization."
This is the Trump Doctrine in action. Venezuela's Maduro — gone. Iran's nuclear ambitions — obliterated. The message to China, Russia, and every tin-pot dictator watching is unmistakable: America is back, and we don't bluff.
The Iranian People's Moment
Perhaps most importantly, the long-suffering people of Iran — who watched the regime murder approximately 50,000 of their own citizens for daring to demand freedom — now have their chance. Senator Tim Sheehy's message resonated: "This is a righteous endeavor. God be with our troops, our allies, and the Iranian people. To the people of Iran, rise up and seize YOUR country. America has your back."
For 47 years, eight American presidents talked about the Iranian threat. Only one had the courage to end it.
As our brave men and women in uniform execute this historic mission, Americans should remember this moment. This is what real leadership looks like. This is what happens when a President puts America First and refuses to accept a world where terrorist regimes threaten our children's future.
The ayatollahs chose death to America. President Trump delivered death to the ayatollahs instead.
God bless our troops. God bless President Trump. And God bless the United States of America.
