Here's a reality check that should infuriate every patriotic American: GOP senators are showing more enthusiasm for bombing Iran than they are for protecting the integrity of our own elections.
The SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections, continues to languish while these same Republican senators practically trip over themselves to support military action overseas. It's a disgraceful display of misplaced priorities that exposes exactly what's wrong with the Washington establishment.
Think about this for a moment, folks. We have senators who will hold emergency meetings and give fiery speeches about the need to strike Iranian targets, but they can't find the same urgency to ensure that only American citizens are deciding American elections. Where's the logic in that?
The SAVE Act Should Be a No-Brainer
President Trump has made election integrity a cornerstone of his second-term agenda, and the SAVE Act represents common-sense legislation that an overwhelming majority of Americans support. Requiring proof of citizenship to vote isn't radical – it's basic election security that should have been implemented decades ago.
Yet while these senators are quick to authorize billions in military spending and cheer on foreign interventions, they suddenly develop cold feet when it comes to defending the most fundamental right of American citizenship: the right to have your vote count and not be diluted by illegal ballots.
"If GOP senators pushed the SAVE America Act with the same urgency and full-throated support with which they've backed the decision to strike Iran, it would already be law," noted The Federalist.
This observation cuts right to the heart of the problem with establishment Republicans who seem more interested in playing war games than protecting the homeland.
Where Are Your Priorities?
The American people didn't send Republicans to Washington to be cheerleaders for endless foreign entanglements. They sent them there to secure our borders, protect our elections, and put America First – just like President Trump promised.
Every day the SAVE Act sits without action is another day that our election system remains vulnerable to foreign interference. Isn't preventing that interference at least as important as responding to it militarily after the fact?
It's time for GOP senators to show the same passion for protecting American democracy at home that they display for projecting American power abroad. Our elections deserve at least as much protection as our foreign policy interests.
