As of 12:45 a.m., Foushee held just 49.2% of the vote against her Bernie Sanders-endorsed challenger Nida Allam - a razor-thin margin that falls well within recount territory. The tight race exposes the deep fractures within the Democrat Party between establishment figures and the radical progressive wing.

The Bernard Bulletin account posted earlier: "Looking at some of the other races tonight, polls close in a few minutes in North Carolina, where my best guess is that Nida Allam, the Bernie-endorsed primary challenger to Rep. Valerie Foushee, rides the blue wave to victory. Allam is trading around 74% to win."
That prediction appears to have fallen flat, but the close margin shows just how vulnerable establishment Democrats have become to challenges from their own radical base.
