The Deep State's revenge campaign against Trump's immigration enforcement is now in full swing, as a Minneapolis county attorney announced criminal investigations into Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino and 16 other federal agents who successfully carried out "Operation Metro Surge" - one of the administration's most effective deportation missions.
The timing couldn't be more suspicious. Just weeks after anti-ICE protesters Renee Good and Alex Pretti died during January confrontations with federal agents conducting lawful deportation operations, local prosecutors are suddenly launching what appears to be a politically motivated witch hunt against the very agents who were doing their jobs.
According to reports, the Minneapolis county attorney claims her office is investigating 17 separate incidents involving federal agents for "possible criminal charges," including allegations that Bovino used chemical irritants during enforcement operations. But here's what they won't tell you: these agents were conducting legally authorized immigration enforcement in a sanctuary jurisdiction that has openly defied federal law for years.
Social Media Erupts Over Political Prosecution
The left-wing mob is already celebrating this obvious attempt to intimidate Trump's immigration enforcement team. One Twitter user gleefully posted, "I love this for him!! Greg Bovino and his federal agents are under investigation for 'Operation Metro Surge,'" while another account spread the narrative that agents used "unlawful force."
"The use of a chemical irritant by U.S. Border Patrol Cmdr. Greg Bovino is among 17 instances of 'potential unlawful behavior' by federal agents during Operation Metro Surge currently being investigated for criminal charges," posted one social media account, amplifying the Democrats' anti-enforcement agenda.
But patriots see right through this charade. These federal agents were carrying out President Trump's mandate to remove illegal aliens from American communities, exactly what voters demanded when they gave Trump his historic mandate in 2024.
The fact that Bovino has already left the Minneapolis area tells you everything you need to know about how hostile these Democrat-controlled jurisdictions have become toward federal law enforcement. Instead of cooperating with ICE to remove dangerous criminals, they're weaponizing their prosecutors against the very agents trying to protect American communities.
This is the Deep State playbook, folks: when Trump's policies work too well, they criminalize the patriots implementing them. Will Republicans in Congress step up and protect these agents from this obvious political persecution?
