The Texas Supreme Court dealt a major blow to Dallas County Democrats on Tuesday, blocking a lower court ruling that would have extended primary voting hours until 9 PM after Democrats claimed widespread voter confusion was "turning away" constituents.

The state's highest court ordered that all ballots cast by voters in line after the standard 7 PM deadline be "set apart," effectively rejecting Democrat claims that polling location confusion justified extra voting time.

Social media lit up with breaking news of the Supreme Court intervention. Reporter Bayliss Wagner tweeted: "BREAKING: The Supreme Court of Texas has BLOCKED the lower court ruling that allowed Dallas County's Democratic primary to remain open 2 hours late. The justices ordered that all ballots cast by voters in line after 7pm be set apart."

Fox 4's Steven Dial confirmed the development, posting: "BREAKING: Texas Supreme Court has blocked a lower court judge order allowing Dallas County Democrat voters to be able to vote until 9PM."

Democrats had rushed to court claiming that up to 90% of voters in Dallas County were affected by confusion over polling locations during Tuesday's congressional primaries. A sympathetic lower court judge initially granted their request for extended hours – a move that would have given Democrats a significant advantage in what are being called "hotly watched" primary races.

But the Texas Supreme Court wasn't buying it. The justices saw through what appears to be another Democrat attempt to manipulate election procedures when things don't go their way.

Left-wing activist Max Rumble tried to spin the situation on social media, claiming "Nearly a third of voters in Williamson and Dallas Counties are being blocked at the polls because Republicans refused to hold unified countywide primaries. Democracy is not just messy here it is being weaponized to confuse and suppress."

The reality? Texas election law is clear about voting hours, and Democrats don't get to change the rules mid-game just because they failed to properly inform their voters about polling locations.

This Supreme Court intervention shows that at least some courts are still willing to uphold election integrity over partisan convenience. The question remains: how many ballots were cast during those illegal extended hours, and what will happen to them now?

Thank goodness the TX Supreme Court has some sense! You can't just extend voting hours because one county can't get their act together. This sets a dangerous precedent if allowed.

Exactly! Election rules exist for a reason and need to be followed equally across all counties.

Why does it always seem like these 'technical difficulties' happen in blue counties right before they ask for special accommodations? The law is the law - polls close when they're supposed to close.

I voted in Dallas County yesterday and it was a complete mess - machines down, long lines, poll workers looking confused. But extending hours isn't the answer, better preparation is!

Sorry you had to deal with that chaos! Hopefully they'll get their systems fixed before the next election.
