While Senate Majority Leader John Thune continues to drag his feet on President Trump's SAVE America Act, his own home state just delivered a massive embarrassment by showing what real Republican leadership looks like.
The South Dakota House of Representatives passed SB 175 on Wednesday - their own version of the SAVE America Act that Thune can't seem to find the backbone to push through the U.S. Senate. Talk about getting schooled by your own constituents!
This is exactly the kind of establishment swamp behavior that drove Americans to vote for Trump's America First agenda in the first place. Here we have a supposedly Republican Senate leader who should be moving heaven and earth to get President Trump's priorities to his desk, and instead he's "hemming and hawing" like some weak-kneed RINO.
South Dakota Shows How It's Done
The Federalist reports that SB 175 mirrors the federal SAVE America Act, proving that when Republicans actually want to get things done for the American people, they can make it happen quickly and decisively. South Dakota's legislators understand what their voters sent them to do - protect election integrity and ensure only American citizens are voting in American elections.
Meanwhile, Thune sits in Washington playing political games while Trump's agenda gets delayed. This is the same John Thune who wasn't exactly Trump's biggest fan during the primaries, and now Patriots are seeing his true colors.
"South Dakota is leading where Washington Republicans are failing," one conservative activist told reporters. "If they can get this done at the state level, what's Thune's excuse?"
Time for Action, Not Excuses
President Trump was elected with a clear mandate to secure our elections and put America First. Every day that passes without the SAVE America Act on his desk is another day the establishment shows they're more interested in protecting their own power than serving We the People.
South Dakota just proved it can be done. The question now is whether Thune will finally do his job, or if he needs to be primaried by someone who will actually fight for Trump's agenda instead of slow-walking it.
