The so-called experts have been wrong about Donald Trump since the day he came down that golden escalator. And according to House Republican Conference Chair Lisa McClain, they're about to be wrong again.
Speaking to the House GOP conference moments before President Trump took the stage Monday afternoon, McClain delivered a defiant message that should send shivers down the spines of every Democrat strategist banking on historical trends to save them in November.
History Has Been Wrong Before
"Everyone in this room knows what's at stake in November," McClain declared. "History will tell us the party in the majority is supposed to lose seats. History tells us that momentum shifts."
But then came the knockout punch.
"But I don't know about you: history's been wrong a lot this year," she continued. "They were wrong when they said that we are going to elect our current president, Donald Trump. So you know what? I think we are going to defy history again."
Let that sink in, folks. The same pollsters, pundits, and legacy media talking heads who told you Trump couldn't win in 2024 are now telling Republicans they're destined to lose seats in the midterms. How'd that prediction work out for them last time?
A Unified Party Ready for Battle
The energy in that ballroom tells you everything you need to know about where the Republican Party stands heading into the 2026 midterms. This isn't the fractured, demoralized party the mainstream media keeps trying to manufacture in their fever dreams. This is a unified force, rallied behind a President who has delivered on promise after promise.
President Trump's appearance before the conference—with a press conference to follow—demonstrates exactly the kind of hands-on leadership that was completely absent during the disastrous Biden years. While Biden hid in his basement and later stumbled through teleprompter disasters, Trump is out there energizing the troops and keeping his coalition rock solid.
The Stakes Couldn't Be Higher
McClain is right about one thing: everyone in that room knows what's at stake. The America First agenda—securing the border, deporting illegal immigrants, unleashing American energy, and dismantling the bloated administrative state—hangs in the balance. Every seat matters.
The Democrats and their media allies are desperate to regain power and undo everything this administration has accomplished. They're counting on historical patterns to bail them out because they certainly can't run on their own ideas.
But as McClain reminded everyone Monday: history has a funny way of bending to the will of the American people when they're truly united behind a cause.
And right now, Patriots, that cause is keeping the America First agenda alive and well.
