Constitutional law expert Jonathan Turley is sounding the alarm that Democrat-controlled states have pushed their anti-Second Amendment agenda so far that the Supreme Court may be forced to step in and restore Americans' constitutional rights.
The George Washington University law professor warns that state-level AR-15 bans have become so "egregious" and constitutionally offensive that SCOTUS will likely have no choice but to review these radical overreach attempts by leftist politicians.
This comes as blue state Democrats continue their relentless assault on law-abiding gun owners, implementing increasingly draconian restrictions that fly in the face of the Constitution's clear language about the right to keep and bear arms.
Democrats' War on the Constitution
For years, patriotic Americans have watched in horror as Democrat-run states like California, New York, and Illinois systematically stripped away Second Amendment rights through backdoor bans and bureaucratic harassment. These politicians know they can't repeal the Second Amendment outright, so they're trying to regulate it out of existence.
But there's a limit to how far even liberal courts will let them go – and Turley suggests that limit may finally have been reached.
"The scope and nature of these state bans have become so sweeping that they may force the Supreme Court's hand," Turley noted, highlighting how Democrats have essentially declared war on one of America's most popular firearms.
The AR-15, which Democrats love to demonize despite being used in a tiny fraction of crimes, is owned by millions of law-abiding Americans for sport, hunting, and home defense. It's exactly the type of commonly-owned firearm the Founders intended to protect.
Constitutional Reckoning Coming?
Under President Trump's leadership, Americans are finally seeing pushback against the radical left's constitutional violations. With a Supreme Court that actually respects the Bill of Rights, gun-grabbing Democrats may soon face the reckoning they've been avoiding.
The question isn't whether these bans are unconstitutional – any honest reading of the Second Amendment makes that crystal clear. The question is when the Supreme Court will finally put an end to this charade once and for all.
Will SCOTUS finally stand up for the rights of law-abiding Americans, or will they continue letting Democrat politicians trample the Constitution?
