The Democrats' Trump Derangement Syndrome continues to rage as Texas millennial Christian Menefee pledges to carry on the left's obsessive impeachment crusade against President Donald Trump in his primary challenge against 78-year-old Rep. Al Green.
Menefee, who is facing off against the incumbent Green in a May 26 primary runoff election, has made it crystal clear that his mission is simple: endless harassment of the 47th President through bogus impeachment attempts. Because apparently, the Democrats learned nothing from their previous failed witch hunts.
The young Democrat is embracing Green's legacy of impeachment theatrics while promising to bring a "fresh approach" to the same tired playbook. What's the key difference he's touting? Age. That's right, folks – the Democrats think a younger face pushing the same deranged agenda will somehow make their constitutional abuse more palatable to voters.
Same Swamp, Younger Face
This development exposes the Democrats' complete inability to move beyond their Trump obsession, even as President Trump successfully implements his America First agenda in his second term. While Republicans are focused on securing the border, cutting regulations, and putting America first, Democrats are still stuck in 2019 fantasizing about impeachment.
"The American people rejected this impeachment nonsense when they overwhelmingly elected President Trump for a second term," said one GOP strategist. "Democrats clearly didn't get the message."
Green, who has attempted to impeach Trump multiple times over the years, apparently isn't radical enough for today's Democratic Party. The fact that Menefee sees Green's impeachment record as a selling point rather than an embarrassment shows just how far left the Democrat Party has lurched.
This Texas primary battle represents everything wrong with today's Democratic Party – they're more interested in political theater and revenge than actually governing. While President Trump focuses on making America great again, Democrats are plotting their next impeachment fantasy.
The question isn't whether these impeachment efforts will succeed – they won't. The question is: when will Democrats finally focus on issues that actually matter to hardworking Americans instead of their never-ending vendetta against the most successful president of our lifetime?
