President Trump's highly qualified nominee for Surgeon General, Dr. Casey Means, is being deliberately sabotaged by the very Republicans who should be fast-tracking her confirmation. Despite sailing through her February confirmation hearing without controversy, her nomination remains inexplicably stalled in the Senate Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) committee.
Here's the math that should have Patriots furious: Republicans hold a 12-11 majority on the HELP committee, meaning Chairman Bill Cassidy (R-LA) needs just 12 votes to advance Dr. Means to the Senate floor. With 12 Republicans on the committee, this should be automatic. So why isn't it happening?
The answer is as predictable as it is infuriating – establishment RINOs are once again undermining President Trump's agenda and putting their own political games ahead of what's best for America.
Dr. Means Represents Everything the Swamp Fears
Dr. Casey Means isn't just another bureaucrat looking to collect a government paycheck. She's a Stanford-educated physician and health advocate who has been calling out Big Pharma's stranglehold on American healthcare long before it was fashionable. Her focus on metabolic health, nutrition, and addressing root causes of disease rather than just pushing pills threatens the entire medical-industrial complex.
This is exactly why Trump chose her – and exactly why the establishment is terrified of her confirmation.
"The American people deserve a Surgeon General who will put their health above pharmaceutical profits," said one conservative health advocate. "Dr. Means represents a fundamental shift away from the failed policies that have made Americans sicker while making Big Pharma richer."
Meanwhile, Democrats are doing what Democrats always do – obstructing every Trump nominee regardless of qualifications. But they can't succeed without Republican help, which makes this betrayal even more galling.
Patriots need to ask themselves: if Republicans won't even confirm Trump's nominees when they have the votes, what exactly are we paying them for? The Trump agenda isn't going to implement itself, and every day these establishment cowards delay confirmation is another day Americans suffer under the status quo.
It's time for Chairman Cassidy to stop playing games and bring Dr. Means to a vote. The American people are watching, and they won't forget which Republicans stood with Trump – and which ones stood with the swamp.
