The hypocrisy is breathtaking, but sadly not surprising. Virginia Democrats have passed SB 749, a sweeping gun control measure that bans the sale, import, manufacture, purchase, and transfer of so-called "assault firearms" and magazines holding 15 rounds or more—but guess who gets to keep their guns? The very politicians who voted to strip these rights from law-abiding Virginians.
This backdoor attempt to outlaw the AR-15 and other popular firearms now sits on Governor Abigail Spanberger's desk, awaiting her signature to complete this constitutional travesty. But here's the kicker that should infuriate every freedom-loving American: these same legislators who claim these weapons are too dangerous for citizens have made sure they themselves remain exempt from their own tyrannical law.
Rules For Thee, But Not For Me
Nothing exposes the elitist mindset of the radical left quite like this brazen double standard. If these firearms are truly the menace Democrats claim they are, why do they need exemptions for themselves? The answer is simple: they know law-abiding gun owners aren't the problem, and they know criminals don't follow gun laws anyway.
This is about control, pure and simple. It's about creating a two-tiered system where government officials live by different rules than the people they're supposed to serve. It's the kind of aristocratic behavior our Founders would have recognized as tyranny.
Virginia patriots need to ask themselves: what makes a politician's life more valuable than yours? What gives them the right to armed protection while leaving you defenseless? These are the same people who surround themselves with armed security while telling you that you don't need a gun for protection.
President Trump's second term can't come fast enough for states suffering under this kind of constitutional assault. While Trump works to restore our rights at the federal level, Virginians are watching their state legislature treat the Second Amendment like a suggestion rather than a sacred right.
The message is clear: in the eyes of Virginia Democrats, some Americans are more equal than others. Will Virginia gun owners stand for this blatant hypocrisy, or will they make their voices heard before it's too late?
