The radical left has reached a new low, folks. Just weeks into President Trump's second term, sick conspiracy theorists on social media are pushing disgusting narratives questioning the legitimacy of the July 2024 assassination attempt that nearly cost our President his life.
Washington Examiner columnist Salena Zito didn't mince words Monday, calling these vile conspiracy theories "crude" and "vulgar" - and she's absolutely right. These deranged leftists are so consumed with Trump Derangement Syndrome that they're willing to deny the reality of a bullet that came within inches of killing the 47th President of the United States.
The conspiracy nuts on X (formerly Twitter) are nitpicking everything from Trump's immediate reaction to how the rally crowd behind him responded to the gunshots. What these armchair analysts fail to understand is basic human psychology - specifically what Zito calls "shell shock."
"These rumors are cut from the same cloth as those who deny tragedies," Zito explained, highlighting how disconnected these keyboard warriors are from reality.
Think about it, Patriots - when bullets start flying and Secret Service agents are screaming "get down," normal people don't react like they're in some Hollywood movie. They freeze, they panic, they experience shock. That's what happened to the innocent Americans at that Butler, Pennsylvania rally who witnessed an attempt on their President's life.
But the Trump-hating left can't accept that their violent rhetoric and constant demonization of our President created the conditions for this assassination attempt. So instead, they concoct elaborate fantasies to avoid confronting the blood on their hands.
This isn't just disgusting - it's dangerous. When you normalize conspiracy theories about political violence, you're laying the groundwork for more violence. The same people who spent years calling Trump supporters "threats to democracy" are now denying that democracy was nearly shattered by an assassin's bullet.
President Trump survived that attack and went on to win the most decisive electoral victory in decades. No amount of sick conspiracy theories can change that reality - but every American should remember who pushed these lies when they step into the voting booth.
