House Republicans are sounding the alarm on a devious Democratic plot to resurrect their failed "defund the police" agenda—this time targeting the brave men and women of ICE and Border Patrol who are working overtime to secure our nation under President Trump's leadership.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and Speaker Mike Johnson blasted Democrats for attempting an end-run around GOP leadership with a backdoor funding scheme for the Department of Homeland Security that deliberately excludes critical law enforcement agencies on the front lines of Trump's historic deportation operation.
"This is defund the police 2.0, and every American should be outraged," Scalise declared, exposing the left's continued war on law enforcement. "While President Trump is delivering on his promise to secure our borders and remove dangerous criminals, Democrats are trying to sabotage our heroes in uniform."
"They can't win at the ballot box, so now they're trying to handicap our immigration enforcement through legislative games. The American people see right through this disgraceful scheme."
The timing couldn't be more suspicious. Just three weeks into Trump's second term, as ICE agents are conducting the largest deportation operations in U.S. history, Democrats suddenly want to play budget games that would cripple these critical agencies.
This is the same party that spent years demonizing police officers, supported BLM riots that destroyed our cities, and pushed to "reimagine" law enforcement. Now they're targeting federal agents who are finally doing their jobs after four years of the Biden regime's open-border disaster.
Speaker Johnson didn't mince words: "We will not allow radical Democrats to undermine President Trump's America First agenda or abandon the men and women who risk their lives to protect our communities."
Patriots across the country should be asking themselves: Why are Democrats so desperate to defund the very agencies that are removing MS-13 gang members, drug dealers, and other criminals from our neighborhoods? What are they really trying to protect?
The answer is clear—Democrats would rather play politics than support the law enforcement officers cleaning up the mess they created. Fortunately, we have leaders in Congress who won't let them get away with it.
