While American forces are engaged in Operation Epic Fury against Iran, our so-called NATO "allies" are showing their true colors by refusing to stand with the United States when it matters most. The reason? They're too worried about looking bad to their left-wing voters back home.
Washington Examiner columnist Guy Benson hit the nail on the head when he explained that other countries' "internal politics" are preventing them from joining America's righteous mission. These fair-weather friends would rather appease their woke constituencies than honor their treaty obligations to the nation that has protected them for decades.
President Trump didn't mince words when he called out these NATO freeloaders on Tuesday, but he also delivered a message that should make every patriot proud: "We don't need them."
And he's absolutely right. For too long, America has carried the burden of global security while European nations lecture us about everything from climate change to social justice. Now, when push comes to shove and we're defending American interests against the Iranian regime, these same countries are nowhere to be found.
America First Vindicated Again
This shameful display of cowardice from our supposed allies proves once again that President Trump's America First approach is the only way forward. Why should we subsidize the defense of nations that won't even stand with us when we need them?
The contrast couldn't be clearer: while Trump leads with strength and decisive action against America's enemies, our NATO "partners" are paralyzed by their own domestic political calculations. They're more concerned with maintaining their progressive credentials than fulfilling their duties as allies.
Patriots across America are watching this unfold and drawing the obvious conclusion - we've been carrying dead weight for far too long. These left-leaning governments have shown their true priorities, and supporting America isn't one of them.
As our brave servicemen and women handle business in Operation Epic Fury, one thing is crystal clear: America doesn't need fair-weather friends who abandon us when the going gets tough. We never have, and we never will.
