While the Trump administration works overtime to secure our southern border and stop the flow of deadly drugs into American communities, Congress is finally stepping up to combat a new threat that makes fentanyl look like child's play.
Republican Rep. August Pfluger of Texas is spearheading the fight against nitazenes - a class of synthetic drugs that experts warn could be even more lethal than the fentanyl that has already killed hundreds of thousands of Americans during the Biden regime's disastrous open border years.
Pfluger introduced the House version of the DETECT Nitazenes Act Thursday, joined by Democratic Rep. Eugene Vindman of Virginia in a rare show of bipartisan unity on an issue that should have been addressed years ago.
Too Little, Too Late?
The legislation directs critical resources from the Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology Directorate and the Drug Enforcement Administration to identify and combat these "devastatingly lethal" substances before they claim even more American lives.
But here's the question every patriot should be asking: Where was this urgency during the four years when Biden's border czar Kamala Harris allowed cartels to turn our southern border into a superhighway for death?
"These synthetic drugs are flooding our communities while families are left to pick up the pieces," a congressional source told Next News Network.
Thanks to President Trump's renewed focus on border security and his commitment to finishing the wall, we're finally seeing real action on the drug crisis that has devastated American families. Secretary Kristi Noem at Homeland Security is already working with local law enforcement to shut down cartel operations that the previous administration ignored.
America First Drug Policy
This is what happens when you have leaders who actually care about protecting American lives instead of virtue signaling about "compassion" for illegal aliens while our own citizens die from Chinese-manufactured poison.
The DETECT Nitazenes Act represents a crucial step, but it's just the beginning. Real border security, mass deportations of criminal aliens, and holding China accountable for fueling America's drug crisis - that's the comprehensive approach we need.
How many more American families have to lose loved ones before every politician in Washington realizes that secure borders save lives?
