California Governor Gavin Newsom couldn't give a straight answer when asked if he considers himself a Zionist, exposing the growing anti-Israel cancer that has completely consumed the modern Democrat Party.
In a revealing interview with Politico published Tuesday, Newsom was directly asked whether he identifies as a Zionist. Instead of giving a clear yes or no answer, the slick-talking governor tap-danced around the question like a politician caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
Newsom repeated the question back to the interviewer—a classic deflection tactic—before refusing to answer directly. He then offered some weak sauce about how he "reveres" Israel while simultaneously attacking Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government.
This is the playbook, folks. Democrats want to have their cake and eat it too. They'll throw out some meaningless platitudes about supporting Israel while kowtowing to the radical anti-Semitic wing of their party that now calls the shots.
The Democrat Party's Anti-Israel Problem
Newsom's cowardice isn't surprising when you look at what's happened to his party. The Democrats have been completely hijacked by Squad members like AOC and Rashida Tlaib, who openly promote anti-Israel propaganda and cozy up to Hamas sympathizers.
Remember, this is the same party that booed God and Israel at their 2012 convention. They've only gotten worse since then. Now even someone like Newsom—who represents a state with a significant Jewish population—can't bring himself to say he supports the Jewish state's right to exist and defend itself.
Compare this pathetic display to President Trump, who moved our embassy to Jerusalem, recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and brokered historic peace deals through the Abraham Accords. That's what real leadership looks like.
While Trump 47 continues rebuilding America's alliance with our strongest democratic ally in the Middle East, Democrats like Newsom are busy appeasing the anti-Semitic mob that has taken over their party. Patriots deserve to know: when push comes to shove, which side will these politicians really be on?
