While hardworking TSA employees go without paychecks thanks to the Democrat Party's refusal to properly fund the Department of Homeland Security, at least one Republican is showing their true swamp colors by defending the cushy airline perks that members of Congress enjoy.
Delta Air Lines announced it would revoke special congressional services including express security lanes and dedicated phone numbers until Democrats stop playing politics with border security and reopen DHS. But instead of standing with the American people who face longer lines and worse service, this unnamed GOP representative is actually defending these elitist privileges.
The Republican lawmaker claimed these perks somehow save taxpayer money - a laughable excuse that sounds more like something you'd hear from Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer. Since when do special express lanes for politicians translate to savings for We the People?
Swamp Mentality Exposed
This is exactly the kind of tone-deaf, establishment thinking that President Trump was elected to destroy. While ordinary Americans wait in security lines that stretch for hours, members of Congress zip through their own special lanes like royalty. And when a private company finally says "enough," we have Republicans making excuses instead of applauding corporate accountability.
"The fact that any Republican would defend congressional perks while government workers go unpaid shows how deep the swamp really goes,"
said one conservative activist following the story.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration continues pushing for common-sense border security funding that would end this shutdown immediately. But Democrats would rather see TSA workers suffer than give President Trump another victory on immigration enforcement.
Delta's decision sends a clear message: if Congress can't do its basic job of keeping the government running, why should they get special treatment? It's a lesson in accountability that this particular Republican clearly hasn't learned.
Patriots should be asking their representatives a simple question: are you fighting for the American people, or are you fighting to protect your own privileges? The answer tells you everything about whether they're part of the solution or part of the swamp.
