The war raging across the Holy Land has claimed another devastating casualty: the sacred Christian observance of Holy Week in Jerusalem itself. Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin patriarch of Jerusalem, announced Sunday that traditional Lenten celebrations have been canceled or postponed due to ongoing military conflict and imposed restrictions.

In a heartbreaking statement, Cardinal Pizzaballa explained that Christians will not be able "to experience the traditional Lenten journey in Jerusalem" because of the chaos engulfing the region. The Cardinal noted that despite the darkness, "The empty tomb is the seal of the victory of life over hatred, of mercy over sin."

This is what happens when America abandons its leadership role on the world stage. For four years under the Biden regime, Iran was emboldened, enriched, and enabled to spread terror across the Middle East. Billions in sanctions relief flowed to the mullahs while they armed Hamas, Hezbollah, and other proxy terror groups targeting our ally Israel.

Christians Pay the Price for Failed Foreign Policy

While politicians play games in Washington, real people of faith are suffering. Christian pilgrims who have traveled thousands of miles to walk in the footsteps of Christ during the holiest week of the year are being denied that sacred privilege because Iranian-backed terrorists continue their campaign of violence.

This isn't just about geopolitics—it's about religious freedom under assault. Christians worldwide look to Jerusalem during Holy Week, and now that spiritual lifeline has been severed by the very forces that Biden spent four years appeasing.

"The empty tomb is the seal of the victory of life over hatred, of mercy over sin," Cardinal Pizzaballa declared, showing the faith that sustains believers even in dark times.

President Trump inherited this Middle East mess from Biden's catastrophic foreign policy, but his strong support for Israel and tough stance on Iran offers hope. The question is: will the new administration be able to restore peace to the Holy Land before more sacred traditions fall victim to terror?

How many more Christian celebrations will be canceled before America gets serious about confronting Iran's reign of terror?

I was planning to visit Jerusalem for Holy Week this year with my church group. This situation is devastating for Christians who have been looking forward to celebrating Easter in the Holy Land.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. Christians around the world are being persecuted and the mainstream media barely covers it. We need to stand with our Christian brothers and sisters!

Exactly! Where's the outrage from world leaders? If this was any other religious group it would be front page news everywhere.

Praying for all the believers who can't celebrate Holy Week safely. This is a spiritual battle and we must not be silent!

Iran's regime has been targeting Christians for decades and now they're expanding their reach. When will the international community take real action against this persecution?

The UN is too busy with their anti-Israel resolutions to care about actual religious persecution happening right in front of them.
