In a major win for constitutional governance and the rule of law, the House Judiciary Committee passed H.R. 8065 on Thursday, legislation designed to strip federal district courts of their ability to appoint interim U.S. Attorneys and restore that critical power exclusively to the Attorney General.

This reform couldn't come at a better time. For too long, we've watched as liberal activist judges have exploited loopholes in the system to install their own handpicked prosecutors - often leftist cronies who share their disdain for conservative values and constitutional principles.

The House Judiciary GOP celebrated the committee's action on X, announcing the passage of this crucial measure that will help drain the swamp of judicial overreach once and for all.

Ending Judicial Power Grabs

Think about what's been happening, Patriots. When U.S. Attorney positions become vacant, some federal judges have been stepping in to fill these prosecutorial roles with their own chosen candidates. This represents a stunning violation of the separation of powers that our Founding Fathers designed to prevent exactly this kind of concentrated authority.

Under Attorney General Pam Bondi's leadership, the Department of Justice is already working to restore integrity and constitutional order to federal law enforcement. The last thing we need is liberal judges undermining that effort by installing their own prosecutorial allies who will pursue the same weaponized justice we saw under the Biden regime.

This legislation ensures that the constitutional chain of command remains intact and prevents judicial activism from infecting our prosecutorial system.

President Trump ran on draining the swamp and restoring constitutional governance. This bill does exactly that by closing a dangerous loophole that allows unelected judges to essentially pick the prosecutors who will enforce federal law in their districts.

With Republicans controlling both chambers of Congress, this reform has a real chance of reaching President Trump's desk and becoming law. It's exactly the kind of structural change needed to prevent future deep state manipulation of our justice system.

The question now is whether Senate Republicans will show the same backbone and push this critical reform across the finish line. American patriots deserve a justice system where prosecutors answer to elected officials, not activist judges pushing their own political agenda.

FINALLY! Thank goodness we still have some people in Congress willing to stand up to judicial activism. This separation of powers exists for a reason!

Exactly right! Judges need to stay in their lane and interpret law, not make it.

Can someone explain what specific powers the judges were trying to claim here? I want to make sure this isn't happening in our local courts too.

This is why I teach my civics students about checks and balances. When one branch overreaches, the others need to push back. Great example of the system working as intended.

The fact that we even had to fight this battle shows how far left the judiciary has drifted. Prosecutors should be accountable to the people, not activist judges.

About time! The Judiciary Committee actually did their job for once.

This is exactly what I've been seeing in my county - liberal judges trying to pick and choose which laws get enforced. We need prosecutors who will actually prosecute criminals, not coddle them.

Same thing happening here in California. It's gotten so bad that criminals know they can get away with anything.
