As President Trump's mass deportation operation gains momentum, Republican Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska is backing sensible transparency measures that will protect both ICE agents and the American people they serve.
Speaking on CNN's "The Arena" Friday, Bacon endorsed practical accountability measures including "body cameras, wearing your IDs, not wearing masks" for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection officers.
"These things make sense," Bacon stated, recognizing that proper identification and documentation will actually strengthen Trump's immigration enforcement efforts by ensuring everything is done by the book.
Smart Politics, Better Policy
Unlike the Left's typical knee-jerk opposition to everything Trump does, Bacon's approach shows how Republicans can support law enforcement while ensuring professional standards. This isn't about hampering ICE – it's about giving our border warriors the tools and protocols they need to operate with maximum effectiveness.
"I would say that there was overreach done by [previous administrations]," Bacon noted, distinguishing Trump's professional approach from past failures.
The congressman's comments come as the Trump-Vance administration has already begun the largest deportation operation in American history, with Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem overseeing unprecedented coordination between federal agencies.
Body cameras will actually protect ICE agents from false accusations while ensuring every deportation is conducted with the professionalism Americans expect. When radical Democrats inevitably cry "abuse," our ICE heroes will have video evidence showing they followed every protocol.
Accountability Without Apology
This is exactly the kind of smart governance Patriots voted for – tough on illegal immigration, but professional in execution. Trump's team understands that transparency makes our immigration enforcement stronger, not weaker.
While coastal elites clutch their pearls about deportations, common-sense Republicans like Bacon are focused on making sure the job gets done right. Body cameras, visible identification, and professional conduct standards aren't obstacles to immigration enforcement – they're force multipliers.
The question isn't whether we should deport illegal aliens. Trump has a mandate to secure our borders. The question is how we execute that mission with the professionalism and transparency that separates America from third-world countries.
