The stench of hypocrisy is overwhelming as French President Emmanuel Macron and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez suddenly discover their love for Christianity – but only when they can use it as a weapon against Israel.
Both leaders are slamming Israel over temporary security measures at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, conveniently ignoring the Iranian missile threats that necessitated the heightened security in the first place. It's a disgusting display of selective outrage from two politicians who spend most of their time attacking Christian values in their own countries.
Let's be crystal clear about what's happening here: Israel remains the ONLY nation in the Middle East where Christians can practice their faith freely and actually thrive. While Christians face persecution, imprisonment, and death across the Islamic world, Israel protects Christian holy sites and guarantees religious freedom.
But Macron and Sanchez? They're too busy virtue signaling to acknowledge this basic reality.
Iran's Shadow Looms Large
These European leaders are deliberately ignoring the elephant in the room – Iran's continued missile threats targeting Israeli civilians and religious sites. When faced with credible security threats, any responsible government would take protective measures. That's exactly what Israel is doing.
Yet somehow, protecting Christian pilgrims from Iranian-backed terrorism becomes an "assault on religious freedom" when Israel does it. The mental gymnastics required to reach this conclusion would win Olympic gold.
Meanwhile, where's Macron's outrage over the churches being burned in France? Where's Sanchez's concern for Christians being persecuted by radical Islamists in his own backyard? Their selective Christianity is showing.
This is classic anti-Israel bias dressed up in religious clothing. These same leaders who push secularism and attack traditional Christian values at home suddenly become devout defenders of the faith when they can use it to bash the Jewish state.
Patriots need to see through this charade. Israel stands as a beacon of religious freedom in a region where Christians face genocide. No amount of European virtue signaling can change that fundamental truth.
