A former Democratic congressional staffer has pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $23,000 from her boss to pay off personal credit card debt, adding yet another corruption scandal to the Democrats' growing list of ethical failures.
Courtney Hruska, who worked for Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) from 2015 to 2022, admitted Tuesday to felony wire fraud charges after using the congresswoman's personal banking information to fund her own lavish spending habits. The Alexandria woman brazenly accessed Kaptur's bank account to cover her credit card bills while working in the halls of Congress.
As journalist Jared Serre reported on social media: "An Alexandria woman pleaded guilty today to wire fraud after using the personal banking info of a member of Congress to pay her own credit card bills."
"Courtney Hruska worked for Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) from 2015-22, per LegiStorm," Serre noted in his post exposing the scandal.
Another Democrat Corruption Scandal
This latest revelation raises serious questions about the vetting and oversight practices within Democratic offices on Capitol Hill. How does a staffer gain access to a member of Congress's personal banking information? And why did it take so long to discover this theft?
While President Trump and his administration are working tirelessly to drain the swamp and restore integrity to government, Democrats continue to be plagued by corruption scandals involving their own staff and operations. From classified document mishandling to financial fraud, the pattern is clear.
Kaptur's office has remained largely silent about the security failures that allowed this theft to occur for years. Patriots deserve to know what safeguards, if any, were in place to protect sensitive financial information and why they failed so spectacularly.
As Trump's Department of Justice continues its work to restore law and order, this case serves as yet another reminder of why Americans voted for change in 2024. The swamp creatures thought they could steal with impunity β but justice is finally being served.
