President Donald J. Trump addressed the nation Wednesday night with a message the American people have waited decades to hear: Iran's reign of terror is being systematically obliterated, and the threat of nuclear blackmail will soon be nothing more than a dark chapter in history.
Just one month into Operation Epic Fury, the results speak for themselves. Iran's navy? Gone. Their air force? In ruins. Their terrorist masterminds? Dead. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps command structure? Decimated.
"Never in the history of warfare has an enemy suffered such clear and devastating large-scale losses in a matter of weeks," President Trump declared from the Oval Office, and for once, that's not hyperbole — it's simply the truth.
Finishing What He Started
Patriots will remember that President Trump has been the only commander-in-chief willing to take decisive action against the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism. While Obama shipped pallets of cash to the mullahs and Biden begged for a return to the disastrous nuclear deal, Trump took out General Qasem Soleimani and ripped up the Iran Nuclear Deal that would have paved Tehran's path to the bomb.
"I did what no other President was willing to do," Trump said. "They made mistakes and I am correcting them."
Let that sink in. For 47 years — nearly half a century — Iran has chanted "Death to America" and "Death to Israel." They murdered 241 of our Marines in Beirut. They killed hundreds of American servicemembers with roadside bombs in Iraq. And for decades, Washington's ruling class wrung their hands and did nothing meaningful to stop them.
That era is over.
Diplomacy First, Devastation When Necessary
President Trump made clear that military action was not his first choice. He pursued diplomacy. He offered the regime off-ramps. But when Iran continued its "relentless quest for nuclear weapons and rejected every attempt at an agreement," the President did what needed to be done.
Operation Midnight Hammer struck Iran's nuclear facilities in June. When the regime tried to rebuild at a secret location, Trump launched Operation Epic Fury. The message to tyrants everywhere is unmistakable: America under Trump doesn't bluff.
"For years, everyone has said that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons — but in the end, those are just words if you're not willing to take action when the time comes," the President explained.
Words versus action. That's the difference between the Trump administration and the failed approaches of Obama and Biden.
Honoring the Fallen, Completing the Mission
President Trump took a solemn moment to honor the 13 American warriors who made the ultimate sacrifice during Operation Epic Fury. Their courage and dedication remind us that freedom is never free — and that their sacrifice must not be in vain.
"Now, we must honor them by completing the mission for which they gave their lives," Trump said.
And complete it he will. The President announced that all military objectives are "on track" to be achieved "very shortly," with intense operations planned over the next two to three weeks to, in his words, "bring them back to the stone ages where they belong."
A Message to Freeloading Nations
In classic Trump fashion, the President also had words for the countries complaining about fuel disruptions while refusing to lift a finger to help neutralize Iran.
"To those countries that can't get fuel — many of which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, we had to do it ourselves — I have a suggestion," Trump said. "Number one, buy oil from the United States of America; we have plenty... And Number two, build up some delayed courage."
Thanks to Trump's "Drill, baby, drill" energy policies, America is better positioned than ever to weather any short-term market disruptions caused by Iran's desperate terror attacks on commercial shipping. Energy dominance isn't just an economic policy — it's a national security strategy.
The End of Nuclear Blackmail
For too long, the specter of a nuclear-armed Iran has hung over the Middle East and the world. Imagine the most violent, fanatical regime on earth with the ability to carry out "campaigns of terror, coercion, conquest, and mass murder from behind a nuclear shield."
President Trump refused to let that nightmare become reality.
"Tonight, every American can look forward to a day when we are finally free from the wickedness of Iranian aggression and the specter of nuclear blackmail," the President concluded. "Because of the actions we have taken, we are on the cusp of ending Iran's sinister threat to America and the world."
This is what American leadership looks like, folks. Not endless wars with no objectives, not nation-building fantasies, not appeasement dressed up as diplomacy — but clear goals, overwhelming force, and the will to see it through.
The question Americans should be asking themselves tonight is simple: Where would we be if the establishment had gotten its way in 2024? Thank God we'll never have to find out.
