Failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams is once again crying wolf about election integrity measures, this time launching a desperate attack on the SAVE America Act by claiming it will "oppress" seniors, rural Americans, disabled individuals, students, and people of color while helping "Republican authoritarians."
The woman who refused to concede her 2018 gubernatorial loss and built a career on election conspiracy theories is now fear-mongering about legislation designed to ensure only American citizens can vote in American elections. Abrams argued that the common-sense reforms could make it "harder for several groups to participate in close elections," which she believes could benefit Republicans.
But here's what Abrams won't tell you: the SAVE America Act simply requires proof of citizenship to vote – something that should be a no-brainer in any functioning democracy. Yet Democrats like Abrams are treating this basic safeguard like it's the end of democracy itself.
"Stacey Abrams, who has run for governor in Georgia twice and lost, stated that the Save America Act might hinder various groups from taking part in tight elections, which she believes could help Republicans,"
one social media user pointed out, highlighting the absurdity of taking election advice from someone who can't win her own races.
The pushback from the left has been predictably unhinged. One Twitter user went full meltdown mode, calling Republicans "liars and crooks" and "sexual deviants" while defending Abrams' position – perfectly illustrating the deranged rhetoric Democrats resort to when they can't defend their policies on merit.
Patriots across America see right through this charade. Requiring citizenship verification isn't "oppression" – it's common sense. Every other country does it, and there's no legitimate reason American elections shouldn't have the same basic safeguards.
The real question is: why are Democrats so desperate to fight against proving citizenship to vote? What are they afraid Americans might discover about who's really been casting ballots in our elections?
