The swamp creatures in Maryland are at it again, folks. The Maryland House of Delegates voted Friday to consider a resolution that would expel Republican Del. Christopher Bouchat for missing floor votes and committee meetings - but here's the kicker: the resolution was introduced by REPUBLICAN Del. Lauren Arikan, proving once again that some so-called conservatives are more interested in playing nice with Democrats than fighting for their constituents.
The backstabbing move comes as President Trump's second term agenda gains momentum nationwide, but establishment Republicans in blue states like Maryland continue to undermine the America First movement from within. Bouchat, who represents Frederick and Carroll counties, has been absent from legislative duties, prompting this heavy-handed response from his own party.
According to reports circulating on social media, Bouchat attempted to make amends by offering to donate his salary to charities and even left blank $1,000 checks on three lawmakers' desks. As one observer noted on Twitter, "Republican lawmakers unhappy with $1,000 checks left on their desks by a colleague, Del. Christopher Eric Bouchat, whom they had called on to resign his legislative seat."
But the virtue-signaling didn't stop there. "The lawmakers quickly voided the checks and alerted the General Assembly's ethics counsel," according to social media reports. Arikan justified her betrayal by claiming, "We have a lot of folks on the floor today who are fighting for their lives. They are sick. They may have cancer."
"When she denied this request, he simply stopped showing up anyway. Bouchat ... offered to donate his salary to charities of their choosing. Eventually, Bouchat left blank $1,000 checks on the three lawmakers' desks."
While attendance is certainly important, this coordinated effort reeks of the same establishment politics that patriots have been fighting against. Instead of working internally to address the issue, Arikan chose to hand Democrats a propaganda victory and weaken Republican representation in an already hostile state legislature.
The resolution will likely die in the House Rules Committee, but the damage to party unity is already done. This is exactly the kind of RINO behavior that has allowed Democrats to steamroll conservative policies for decades. When will these establishment Republicans learn that the enemy isn't across the aisle - it's the Deep State apparatus that wants to silence all conservative voices?
