In a remarkable moment that showcases the intersection of American space dominance and faith, Artemis II pilot Victor Glover revealed to President Trump that he said a prayer during the mission's communication blackout as the crew flew around the far side of the moon Monday.

The historic conversation between Trump and the Artemis II crew – including astronauts Wiseman, Glover, Koch, and Hansen – demonstrated the President's hands-on leadership in America's return to lunar exploration. When the communication briefly went silent during the call, it gave Americans a taste of what these brave astronauts experienced during their journey to the moon's far side.

Social media captured the emotional weight of this historic mission, with News4SA sharing footage of Victor Glover Sr. describing "the emotional experience of seeing his son go to space" during a CNN interview. The pride of American families watching their loved ones make history under Trump's leadership is palpable.

"Trump's live call with Artemis II astronauts went deathly quiet for a full minute before a 'quick comms check' broke the awkward space silence," noted observer Tom Wellborn, highlighting the very real communication challenges our astronauts face in deep space.

Glover's admission that he turned to prayer during the blackout reflects the values that have long driven American space exploration – courage, faith, and the pioneering spirit that President Trump has consistently championed. This isn't just about reaching the moon; it's about American exceptionalism and our nation's destiny among the stars.

The Artemis II mission represents a stark contrast to the previous administration's space policy failures. Under Trump's renewed leadership, America is once again leading in space exploration, with astronauts like Glover making lunar history while staying grounded in the faith that built this great nation.

As NewBlackMan noted on social media, Glover is "set to make lunar history" as he pilots Artemis II around the moon – a testament to American ingenuity and the Trump administration's commitment to putting America first, even 240,000 miles from Earth.

How fitting that in America's triumphant return to lunar exploration, our astronauts aren't afraid to acknowledge the role of faith alongside science and determination.

As someone who grew up near Kennedy Space Center, I've always believed our astronauts are modern-day explorers guided by divine providence. What an incredible testimony to share with President Trump!

This is exactly what America needs to hear! Our space program was built on faith and ingenuity, and it's refreshing to see an astronaut openly discussing prayer. God bless this brave soul and the entire Artemis mission.

Absolutely agree! The original Apollo missions had plenty of faithful men who weren't afraid to acknowledge God's role in their success.

Amazing story! When you're that far from Earth with nothing but the void around you, of course you turn to prayer.

Does anyone know if NASA still allows chaplains to minister to astronauts during training? I remember reading about that years ago but wasn't sure if the woke crowd had eliminated those programs.

Yes they do! My nephew works at JSC and says they still have chaplain services available for all crew members regardless of denomination.
