BETRAYAL: Speaker Johnson Set to SURRENDER to Planned Parenthood, Let Funding Ban Expire

In what pro-life advocates are calling a massive betrayal of conservative values, House Speaker Mike Johnson is reportedly preparing to let the federal funding ban on Planned Parenthood expire this summer, opening the floodgates for taxpayer dollars to once again flow to America's largest abortion provider.

According to reports from the Washington Examiner, Johnson—who previously championed a two-year funding ban that was watered down to just one year—is now signaling he won't fight to extend the prohibition when it expires on July 4th. The timing couldn't be more ironic: America's independence being celebrated while unborn children lose their chance at life with taxpayer funding.

Pro-life groups across the nation are mobilizing to pressure Johnson and Republican leadership to maintain the ban on Medicaid funds flowing to the organization that terminates hundreds of thousands of pregnancies annually.

"Defending the right to life is fundamental and something all Republicans should fight for," one pro-life advocate told reporters, expressing frustration with Johnson's apparent retreat.

This potential surrender comes at a critical time when President Trump and his administration are working tirelessly to implement a truly pro-life agenda. While Trump fights the establishment on multiple fronts, Johnson appears ready to hand a major victory to the radical left and their abortion allies.

The Speaker's original legislation would have cut off the federal funding spigot for two full years, but Washington's swamp creatures managed to negotiate it down to a measly 12-month prohibition during budget reconciliation. Now, even that modest victory appears to be slipping away due to Johnson's lack of backbone.

Patriots who voted for Republican control of Congress didn't send their representatives to Washington to compromise with the abortion industry. They expected bold conservative leadership that would defund Planned Parenthood permanently, not temporary half-measures that get abandoned at the first sign of political pressure.

The question now is whether grassroots conservatives will make their voices heard loudly enough to remind Speaker Johnson which side he's supposed to be fighting for—or if he'll hand the abortion lobby another undeserved victory on a silver platter.

Can someone explain why Johnson thinks this is a winning strategy? Does he not realize who voted him into that position?

As someone who has volunteered at pregnancy resource centers for 15 years, this breaks my heart. We've worked so hard to provide real alternatives and support to women, and our own Speaker won't even defund the opposition.

Unbelievable! My tax dollars should NOT be going to fund abortion providers. When will these so-called conservative leaders actually fight for what they claim to believe?

This is exactly why we can't trust establishment Republicans anymore. Johnson promised to stand firm on conservative values and now he's caving to the swamp at the first sign of pressure.

Completely agree. We need fresh blood in leadership who won't fold the moment things get difficult.

WEAK! Absolutely weak leadership!
