Finally, a Republican lawmaker is taking action against one of the most brazen scams in our broken immigration system – asylum fraudsters who claim to "flee" persecution while literally vacationing back in the countries they supposedly escaped from.
Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) has introduced the SAFER Act, legislation specifically designed to strip asylum status from these con artists who are gaming our system while laughing all the way to the welfare office. The timing couldn't be better, coming right after the arrest of Qassem Soleimani's niece over allegedly fraudulent asylum claims filed in Los Angeles.
Think about the audacity here, Patriots. These people show up at our border with sob stories about persecution and death threats, get handed asylum status by bleeding-heart bureaucrats, then immediately book flights back to their "dangerous" home countries for family reunions and beach vacations. It's the kind of fraud that makes every hardworking American's blood boil.
The SAFER Act would automatically revoke asylum status for anyone caught returning to their country of alleged persecution for non-emergency purposes. No more playing both sides. No more having your cake and eating it too on the American taxpayer's dime.
Long Overdue Common Sense
This is exactly the kind of legislation President Trump's administration needs to support as part of the broader crackdown on illegal immigration and asylum abuse. While the mainstream media wrings their hands about "compassion," real Americans are asking why we're being played for suckers by professional scam artists.
"If you're truly fleeing persecution, you don't go back for vacation," one immigration expert noted. "This is fraud, plain and simple."
The Soleimani case perfectly illustrates how our asylum system has become a joke. The niece of Iran's top terrorist felt comfortable enough to allegedly file fraudulent claims in Los Angeles – the same family that spent decades plotting against America.
It's time to end the asylum scam once and for all. Every fraudulent claim takes resources away from legitimate refugees and makes a mockery of our immigration laws. How many more vacation photos from "persecuted" asylum seekers do we need to see before we admit the system is broken?
