DISGRACEFUL: Iowa Democrat Pastor Says 9/11 Taught Her About 'Anti-Muslim Bigotry'

A Democratic congressional candidate in Iowa has sparked outrage after claiming that the September 11 terrorist attacks taught her about "anti-Muslim bigotry" rather than the very real threat of radical Islamic terrorism that killed nearly 3,000 innocent Americans.

Sarah Trone Garriott, a Lutheran minister seeking a congressional seat, made the tone-deaf comments in an opinion piece defending her controversial 2021 decision to read a Muslim prayer in the Iowa Senate. According to reports, Garriott wrote that 9/11 made her more aware of "anti-Muslim bigotry" and the "harm" it caused.

Let that sink in, folks. While most Americans remember 9/11 as the day Islamic terrorists flew planes into the Twin Towers and Pentagon, this Democrat pastor somehow sees it as a lesson about discrimination against Muslims. It's a breathtaking display of leftist victim mentality that turns reality completely upside down.

Woke Christianity at Its Worst

Garriott's comments represent everything wrong with the modern Democratic Party's approach to national security and radical Islam. Instead of acknowledging the legitimate security concerns raised by Islamic extremism, she's more worried about hurting feelings and pushing woke talking points.

This is the same warped thinking that gave us the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal under Biden, where 13 American service members died and billions in military equipment was handed over to the Taliban. It's the mindset that prioritizes political correctness over protecting American lives.

"The fact that a supposed Christian minister thinks 9/11 was a lesson about Islamophobia rather than Islamic terrorism shows how far the left has fallen," one Iowa Republican activist told reporters.

Patriots across Iowa need to ask themselves: Do they want someone representing them in Congress who sees America's enemies as victims? Someone who thinks the greatest tragedy in modern American history was really about bigotry against the very ideology that motivated the attackers?

President Trump's America First agenda has made it clear that we will no longer apologize for defending our nation against radical Islamic terrorism. It's time Iowa voters send this woke pastor packing and elect someone who actually puts America first.

How does someone like this get elected in Iowa? We need better vetting of candidates who claim to share our Christian values but clearly don't.

Unfortunately the cities are getting more liberal every year. We're fighting an uphill battle.

The real bigotry is against Americans who dare to be concerned about radical Islamic terrorism. We're not allowed to even discuss the threat without being called bigots ourselves.

This is absolutely disgraceful! 9/11 was about innocent Americans being murdered by terrorists, not about hurt feelings. How can someone twist that tragedy into a victim narrative?

Exactly right. I lost a friend in Tower 2 and this kind of rhetoric is insulting to his memory.

Unbelievable!

The left always finds a way to make themselves the victim. 3,000 people died that day but somehow it's about their feelings getting hurt when people were justifiably concerned about Islamic extremism.

This is why Iowa needs to stay red. These kinds of politicians don't represent our values.

I remember 9/11 very clearly - I was watching the news when the second plane hit. The lesson I learned was about evil in this world, not about being more politically correct. This pastor has her priorities completely backwards.

Wait, she's a pastor AND a Democrat politician? That seems like a contradiction in terms these days.
