EXPOSED: Dem Congressional Candidate Claims 9/11 Made Her 'Aware' of Anti-Muslim Bigotry

A Democrat congressional candidate in Iowa is facing fierce backlash after an unearthed op-ed revealed she used the 9/11 terrorist attacks to lecture Americans about 'anti-Muslim bigotry' rather than honoring the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost that day.

Sarah Trone Garriott, who's seeking to represent Iowa's working families in Congress, penned the tone-deaf piece claiming the September 11th attacks made her more 'aware' of supposed discrimination against Muslims. Instead of focusing on the Islamic terrorists who murdered thousands of Americans, Garriott chose to position Muslims as the real victims.

This is exactly the kind of America-last thinking that has infected the Democrat Party. While patriotic Americans remember 9/11 as a day when radical Islamic terrorists declared war on our nation, progressive Democrats like Garriott see it as an opportunity to virtue signal about 'Islamophobia.'

GOP Fires Back at Disgraceful Comments

Republican critics are rightfully slamming Garriott's warped priorities. How disconnected from reality do you have to be to witness the worst terrorist attack in American history and conclude that Muslims are the ones who need protection?

The families of 9/11 victims deserve better than politicians who twist their loved ones' sacrifice into progressive talking points about bigotry that barely existed.

This revelation perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with today's Democrat Party. They can't even commemorate a national tragedy without injecting their woke ideology and making Americans the villains in their own story.

Under President Trump's strong leadership, we've seen a return to putting America First and calling out radical Islamic terrorism for what it is. Meanwhile, Democrats like Garriott are still stuck in the Obama-era mindset of apologizing for America while coddling our enemies.

Iowa voters deserve a representative who will honor our fallen heroes and defend American values—not someone who uses our national tragedy to lecture us about tolerance for the very ideology that attacked us. Will Garriott's disturbing comments finally wake up Iowa Democrats to how far their party has fallen?

I was deployed three times after 9/11 and lost brothers in arms fighting terrorism. How does she think this kind of statement honors their sacrifice?

Thank you for your service. My husband didn't come home from Afghanistan and this makes me sick.

This is why we can't let these radical Democrats anywhere near Congress!

What's next, Pearl Harbor made people aware of anti-Japanese sentiment? Sometimes there are real threats that require real responses.

This is absolutely tone-deaf. 9/11 should have made her aware of the real threat we faced, not worried about hurt feelings.

Exactly! The victims and their families deserved better than this kind of backwards thinking.

Does anyone have the full context of her quote? I want to see exactly how she worded this before sharing with my network.
