A radical left-wing pastor running for Congress in Iowa has revealed her twisted worldview after claiming that the September 11 terrorist attacks made her more concerned about "anti-Muslim bigotry" than the actual Islamic extremists who murdered nearly 3,000 innocent Americans.
Democratic congressional candidate Sarah Trone Garriott, a Lutheran minister who previously served in the Iowa Senate, made the shocking comments in an opinion piece defending her controversial decision to read a Muslim prayer on the Senate floor in 2021.
According to Breitbart, Garriott wrote that 9/11 made her more aware of "anti-Muslim bigotry" and the "harm" it supposedly caused. Think about that for a moment, Patriots. While most Americans remember 9/11 as the day Islamic terrorists flew planes into buildings and changed our nation forever, this Democrat sees it as a learning experience about religious tolerance.
The Left's Warped Priorities on Full Display
This is exactly the kind of backward thinking that has infected the Democratic Party. Instead of recognizing the very real threat of radical Islamic terrorism that killed thousands of our fellow Americans, Garriott's takeaway was that we need to be more sensitive to Muslims.
What's next? Will she claim Pearl Harbor taught her about anti-Japanese sentiment? This is the same mentality that brought us eight years of Barack Obama's apology tours and Joe Biden's disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that left 13 American service members dead.
"The September 11 attacks made her more aware of 'anti-Muslim bigotry' and the 'harm' it caused."
Garriott's comments perfectly encapsulate everything wrong with today's Democratic Party. They're more concerned with virtue signaling and political correctness than protecting American lives and values. While President Trump works to secure our borders and keep America safe, Democrats like Garriott are worried about hurting feelings.
Iowa voters need to ask themselves: Do they want a representative who sees America's enemies as victims, or one who puts America First? The choice couldn't be clearer.
