A disturbing revelation has emerged about Texas Republican State Senator Mayes Middleton's bid for Attorney General: he actually authored legislation that would force local communities to accept Islamic housing developments, including so-called "Sharia cities," whether they wanted them or not.

Senate Bill 854, filed by Middleton in January 2025, was supposedly designed to address Texas' housing shortage. But the devil is in the details, Patriots. The bill would strip local governments of their constitutional authority to regulate religious housing developments within their own communities.

This means that if Middleton's legislation had passed, Islamic groups could force unwilling Texas towns to greenlight the construction of entire religious enclaves - complete with their own governance structures that could potentially operate outside American law.

Local Control Under Attack

What's particularly outrageous is that this attack on local sovereignty comes from someone who claims to be a conservative Republican. Middleton's bill represents everything wrong with establishment politicians who talk a good game but then sell out American communities when it matters most.

Texas towns have fought hard to maintain their character and values against unwanted development. Local zoning laws exist for good reason - to protect property values, preserve community standards, and ensure public safety. Middleton's legislation would have demolished these protections in the name of politically correct "religious accommodation."

"This is exactly the kind of RINO betrayal that Texas voters are sick and tired of," said one concerned citizen. "We need an Attorney General who will defend our communities, not force radical changes on them."

The timing couldn't be worse for Middleton's political ambitions. With President Trump's second-term agenda focused on America First policies and protecting local communities from federal overreach, Texas Republicans are looking for candidates who will stand with them - not against them.

This revelation raises serious questions about Middleton's judgment and his commitment to conservative principles. If he's willing to sacrifice local control for political correctness now, what other betrayals can Texas expect if he becomes Attorney General?

I've seen this playbook before in my own county - politicians who claim to be conservative but then push progressive policies once they think nobody's watching. We stopped a similar measure here last year and the community was overwhelmingly opposed.

Good for you for standing up! More local leaders need to have that kind of backbone.

This is exactly why we need to do our homework before voting! These RINOs talk conservative during campaigns but their voting records tell a completely different story.

100% agree! Always check their actual legislative history, not just their campaign promises.

How is this even constitutional? Local communities should have the right to govern according to American laws and values, not foreign legal systems.
