American servicemembers are once again putting their lives on the line to clean up a mess created by Iran's terrorist regime, as U.S. forces have begun the dangerous task of clearing Iranian mines from the Strait of Hormuz after the mullahs refused to remove the weapons themselves.

The critical shipping lane, through which roughly 20% of the world's oil passes, has been effectively held hostage by Iran's mine-laying operation – a clear act of economic warfare against the global community. But instead of forcing the regime to face the consequences of their actions, America is doing the dirty work while Iranian delegates sit comfortably in Pakistan for negotiations.

This is exactly the kind of backwards approach that has emboldened Iran for decades. Why should brave American sailors risk life and limb defusing Iranian mines when we have the military capability to force the regime to clean up their own mess?

Time for Real Consequences

The Trump administration needs to deliver an ultimatum to these Pakistani-hosted talks: Iran removes every single mine they planted, or they face immediate and overwhelming military strikes on their naval facilities. Period.

"Why should we risk our men to clean up their mess?" asks PJ Media, echoing the frustration of millions of Americans who are tired of watching our military serve as the world's janitors while hostile regimes face zero accountability.

Iran's mine-laying operation represents a direct threat to global commerce and American interests – yet we're treating it like a diplomatic inconvenience rather than an act of war.

Every day those mines remain in place is another day Iran profits from global economic disruption while American forces shoulder the risk. This isn't diplomacy – it's weakness disguised as responsibility.

President Trump campaigned on ending America's role as the world's policeman, yet here we are, literally sweeping up Iran's weapons while the regime laughs at our expense. The Iranian mullahs planted those mines – they should be the ones risking their necks to remove them, not our sailors.

How long will Americans tolerate watching our military clean up messes for regimes that want us dead?

Does anyone know how much this cleanup operation is going to cost taxpayers? I support protecting shipping lanes but Iran should be footing the bill for their own mess.

This is what America First foreign policy looks like - protecting our interests and our allies' shipping routes while holding bad actors accountable. Iran's regime has been destabilizing the region for years and someone finally has the backbone to stand up to them.

Agreed, but we need to make sure this doesn't turn into another endless Middle East commitment.

Finally a president who actually takes action instead of just talking! Iran has been playing games in the Strait of Hormuz for decades and it's about time someone called their bluff.

Exactly right. I served in the Persian Gulf and we dealt with Iranian harassment constantly. They only respect strength.
