San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones is throwing up roadblocks to President Trump's historic mass deportation operation, frantically pleading with DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin to scrap plans for a major ICE processing and detention facility in the Alamo City.

In a letter sent to Mullin last week, the obstructionist mayor made her position crystal clear: "My community is not interested in hosting an ICE processing facility." Translation? Jones would rather protect illegal aliens than enforce the immigration laws that Americans overwhelmingly voted for in November 2024.

This is exactly the kind of sanctuary city nonsense that President Trump promised to crush during his second term. While hardworking Americans demand secure borders and the deportation of criminals who entered our country illegally, liberal mayors like Jones are actively sabotaging federal immigration enforcement.

Deep State Resistance Continues

Jones' letter represents more than just local opposition – it's part of the coordinated resistance from Democrat officials who refuse to accept that the American people decisively rejected their open-borders agenda. These are the same politicians who turned a blind eye while millions of illegal aliens flooded across our southern border during the disastrous Biden years.

The proposed ICE facility would be a crucial component of Trump's mass deportation promise, providing the infrastructure needed to process and remove the estimated 15-20 million illegal aliens currently living in the United States. But Jones apparently believes San Antonio should be a safe haven for people who broke our immigration laws.

"My community is not interested in hosting an ICE processing facility" - Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones

What Jones conveniently ignores is that her "community" includes law-abiding American citizens who are tired of their tax dollars being drained by illegal immigration, their neighborhoods overrun by foreign nationals, and their safety compromised by criminal aliens.

Secretary Mullin and the Trump administration must ignore this virtue-signaling mayor and push forward with the detention facility. The American people didn't elect Trump to negotiate with sanctuary city politicians – they elected him to enforce our immigration laws regardless of local Democrat opposition.

Will the Trump administration cave to this liberal pressure, or will they bulldoze through the resistance and deliver the mass deportations they promised? Patriots are watching.

OBSTRUCTION plain and simple!

This is exactly what's wrong with sanctuary city policies! Mayor needs to put American citizens first instead of protecting people who broke our laws to get here.

Absolutely right! My tax dollars shouldn't be going to shield lawbreakers.

Why is a mayor allowed to obstruct federal immigration enforcement? Isn't this a federal issue that supersedes local authority?

Federal law is federal law. Local officials can't just pick and choose which laws they want to follow when it's convenient for their political agenda.

Exactly! This is the same lawlessness we saw during COVID lockdowns.

How is blocking ICE facilities protecting anyone except criminals? Legal immigrants went through the proper process and don't need this kind of 'protection.'

My buddy works in construction and constantly gets undercut by contractors hiring illegals for cash under the table. Meanwhile our mayor is actively helping them stay here illegally.

I live here and I'm disgusted by this. Our city has real problems with crime and homelessness but the mayor focuses on protecting illegals instead of helping actual citizens.

Same story in every blue city unfortunately. Citizens last, illegals first.

Vote him out next election! San Antonio deserves better leadership.
