In a stunning display of anti-American appeasement, Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) went on NPR Tuesday morning to defend the Iranian regime while attacking President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the real obstacles to nuclear peace.
Speaking on NPR's "Morning Edition," Van Hollen made the outrageous claim that "Tehran has been willing to make some concessions with respect to its nuclear program, and has been from the start." According to the Maryland Democrat, it's actually "Donald Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu" who refuse to negotiate.
Let that sink in, Patriots. A sitting U.S. Senator is publicly siding with the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism over America's democratically elected President and our closest Middle Eastern ally.
"Tehran has been willing to make some concessions with respect to its nuclear program, and has been from the start. It's Donald Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu who won't make concessions," Van Hollen claimed.
This is the same Iran that chants "Death to America" in its parliament, funds Hamas terrorists, and has been racing toward nuclear weapons capability for years. The same regime that tried to assassinate Trump during the 2024 campaign and regularly threatens to wipe Israel off the map.
The Democrat Delusion Continues
Van Hollen's comments perfectly encapsulate the left's backwards foreign policy priorities. While President Trump has successfully rebuilt American strength on the world stage and restored our alliance with Israel, Democrats like Van Hollen apparently prefer appeasing Iranian mullahs over supporting American interests.
This is exactly why voters decisively rejected the Democrats' weak-kneed approach to foreign policy in 2024. Americans want leaders who stand up to our enemies, not senators who make excuses for terrorist regimes while attacking our own President.
How can any American politician seriously argue that Iran - a regime that executes protesters and exports terrorism worldwide - is more reasonable than the leaders of America and Israel? Van Hollen's comments aren't just wrong, they're dangerously naive and anti-American.
