The compact, signed into law Monday, means that Virginia's 13 electoral votes would automatically go to whoever wins the national popular vote – even if Virginians themselves vote overwhelmingly for the opposite candidate. Think about that for a moment: your vote in Virginia could be completely nullified by ballot harvesting operations in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
