TRUMP DOJ STRIKES: Connecticut SUED Over Sanctuary City Policies That Shield Criminal Illegals

The Department of Justice under Attorney General Pam Bondi has fired the first major salvo in President Trump's promised crackdown on sanctuary jurisdictions, filing a federal lawsuit against Connecticut and the city of New Haven for policies that actively obstruct federal immigration enforcement.

The lawsuit alleges that Connecticut's sanctuary policies amount to "open defiance" of federal law and directly interfere with Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations designed to remove criminal illegal aliens from American communities.

Finally, A DOJ That Enforces the Law

This is exactly what millions of Americans voted for in 2024. While the Biden regime spent four years coddling sanctuary cities and allowing them to shield criminal illegals, the Trump-Vance administration is making it crystal clear: follow federal law or face the consequences.

Connecticut's sanctuary policies prevent local law enforcement from cooperating with ICE agents trying to apprehend illegal aliens who have committed crimes on American soil. Think about that, Patriots – your tax dollars fund local police who are literally prohibited from helping federal agents remove criminals from your neighborhoods.

"These sanctuary policies don't just violate federal law – they endanger innocent American families by protecting criminals who should have been deported long ago," a DOJ source told conservative media.

New Haven, in particular, has been a poster child for the radical left's open borders agenda, brazenly advertising itself as a "sanctuary city" that will harbor illegal aliens regardless of their criminal history.

The Deep State Cleanup Continues

This lawsuit represents a stark contrast from the weaponized DOJ under Merrick Garland, which spent its time prosecuting parents at school board meetings and targeting Trump supporters. Under Pam Bondi, the Department of Justice is finally living up to its name – delivering actual justice for the American people.

The Trump administration has made clear this is just the beginning. Every sanctuary jurisdiction in America should be taking notes: the days of flagrantly violating federal immigration law while demanding federal funding are over.

How many more American families have to suffer because liberal politicians care more about protecting criminal illegals than their own constituents? It's time to choose a side, and President Trump has chosen America.

Finally! It's about time someone held these sanctuary cities accountable. Connecticut has been thumbing their nose at federal law for too long.

Exactly right! My tax dollars shouldn't be protecting people who broke the law to get here.

This is exactly what the Supremacy Clause was designed for - federal law trumps state law. Does anyone know if other states are facing similar lawsuits?

I think California and New York are next on the list. About time!

I live in Connecticut and I've seen firsthand how these policies make our communities less safe. When local police can't cooperate with ICE, dangerous criminals slip through the cracks and innocent people get hurt.
