The sheer arrogance of foreign bureaucrats never ceases to amaze. Former Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland went on MSNBC - of course it was MSNBC - to lecture Americans that Canada is "rooting for America to get its act together."
Here's a news flash for Ms. Freeland: We already got our act together. It's called electing Donald Trump for a second term and giving Republicans control of government after the absolute disaster that was the Biden administration.
Speaking on "All In" Wednesday, Freeland demonstrated the typical globalist mindset that refuses to acknowledge what 76 million Americans knew in 2024 - that Trump's America First agenda is exactly what this country needed to get back on track.
"Canada is rooting for America to get its act together," Freeland said, apparently oblivious to the fact that America just did exactly that by rejecting four more years of Democrat policies.
This is rich coming from a representative of Justin Trudeau's Canada - a country that imposed some of the world's most draconian COVID lockdowns, trampled on truckers' rights during the Freedom Convoy, and has watched its economy struggle while America surges under Trump's pro-business policies.
What Freeland really means is that Canada's liberal establishment is hoping America will somehow reverse course and go back to the globalist, climate-obsessed, weakness-projecting policies that made our allies comfortable but made Americans suffer.
Sorry Canada - We're Not Going Back
The Trump-Vance administration has already begun delivering on the America First agenda that voters demanded. From securing our borders to unleashing American energy dominance, from ending woke military policies to restoring common sense - THIS is America getting its act together.
Maybe instead of lecturing us, Canadian officials should focus on their own problems. Because last we checked, it wasn't Americans trucking to Ottawa to protest their government's overreach.
The era of foreign elites looking down on America while we subsidize their defense and prop up their economies is over. We got our act together alright - and it starts with putting America First.
