Russia launched its most devastating missile and drone assault on Ukraine in months, killing at least 18 people and prompting yet another round of desperate pleas from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for more Western military aid. But here's the question every American should be asking: How much longer are we going to fund this endless proxy war while our own nation crumbles?
The latest Russian barrage marks a significant escalation after weeks of relative calm, with Moscow unleashing waves of nearly 200 missiles and drones across Ukrainian territory. Zelensky, playing his familiar role as global beggar-in-chief, immediately hit the phones to lobby Western allies for more advanced air defense systems.
America First, Not Ukraine First
While tragic loss of life anywhere deserves sympathy, American patriots are rightfully asking why President Trump's second term should continue the Biden regime's disastrous policy of writing blank checks to Ukraine. We've already sent over $100 billion to this conflict while our own southern border remains a joke and American cities are overrun with illegal aliens and crime.
President Trump campaigned on ending foreign wars and putting America First – not perpetuating the military-industrial complex's favorite money-laundering operation. The Trump-Vance administration has an opportunity to broker real peace negotiations instead of continuing this bloody stalemate that only enriches defense contractors.
"We need to end this war, and frankly, both sides need to come to the table," a senior administration official told reporters, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Russia's escalating attacks come as the conflict enters its third year with no clear end in sight. Meanwhile, everyday Americans are struggling with inflation, housing costs, and the consequences of the previous administration's reckless spending spree.
It's time for Trump to fulfill his campaign promise: negotiate an end to this conflict and bring American resources home where they belong. How many more billions will we pour into Ukraine while American veterans sleep on the streets?
