Speaker Mike Johnson just handed the Deep State another victory by ramming through a short-term extension of Section 702 of FISA - the same surveillance authority that was weaponized against President Trump and countless innocent Americans.
Despite fierce opposition from constitutional conservatives who demanded real reforms to prevent future abuses, Johnson caved to the surveillance state establishment and extended the spy powers that have trampled on our Fourth Amendment rights for years.
This is the same FISA system that allowed corrupt FBI agents to spy on the Trump campaign in 2016. The same system that has been used to monitor American citizens without proper warrants. And now Johnson - who was supposed to be on our side - just gave them more time to keep violating the Constitution.
Bipartisan Patriots Stand Against Surveillance State
The fight wasn't just from conservatives. Even some Democrats joined Republicans in demanding meaningful reforms to prevent the intelligence agencies from continuing their illegal surveillance operations against American citizens.
These patriots understand what's at stake: our fundamental right to privacy and protection from government overreach. But Johnson apparently thinks keeping the establishment happy is more important than defending the Constitution he swore to uphold.
"The American people deserve better than having their own government spy on them without cause. This extension is a betrayal of conservative principles."
While President Trump works tirelessly to drain the swamp and restore constitutional governance, Speaker Johnson is handing the Deep State the tools they need to continue their assault on our freedoms.
This short-term extension buys time for surveillance hawks to regroup and push through a "clean" extension - meaning no reforms, no accountability, and no protection for law-abiding Americans who just want to live their lives without Big Brother watching their every move.
How many more Americans will have their rights violated while Johnson plays politics with our Constitution? Patriots deserve leaders who will fight the surveillance state, not enable it.
