Another key figure in President Trump's historic immigration enforcement operation is stepping down, as acting ICE Director Todd Lyons announced Thursday he will leave his post effective May 31st.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, who took over the agency following Kristi Noem's departure in March, praised Lyons as "a phenomenal patriot and dedicated leader" who played a crucial role in the Trump administration's unprecedented crackdown on criminal illegal aliens.
"Director Lyons has been a great leader of ICE and key player in helping the Trump administration remove murderers, rapists, and pedophiles from our communities," Mullin stated, highlighting the administration's laser focus on prioritizing public safety over politically correct immigration policies.
Deportation Machine Running at Full Speed
Lyons' tenure comes as the Trump administration has delivered on its promise of mass deportations, with ICE operating as the tip of the spear in removing dangerous criminals who never should have been allowed to roam American streets under the previous Biden regime.
Unlike the catch-and-release disaster of the Biden years, Trump's ICE has been systematically targeting the worst of the worst - exactly what the American people voted for in 2024.
"This administration promised to clean up the immigration mess, and that's exactly what's happening. No more sanctuary cities protecting violent criminals."
While the departure represents another personnel shift in the rapidly moving Trump administration, it signals the President's commitment to finding the absolute best people to execute his America First agenda. Trump has never hesitated to make changes when necessary to keep his promises to the American people.
The question now becomes: who will Trump tap next to continue this crucial mission of protecting American families from the criminal elements that flooded across our borders during four years of Biden's open-border catastrophe?
One thing is certain - whoever steps into this critical role will have big shoes to fill and a clear mandate: keep America safe first.
