The wife of socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has been forced to publicly apologize for a disturbing pattern of racist, homophobic, and anti-Israel tweets she posted during her teenage years—raising serious questions about the character of those closest to the radical mayor.
Rama Duwaji addressed the controversy in an interview with Hyperallergic magazine published Wednesday, offering what many are calling a damage-control apology. "I've read and seen a lot of what others have had to say in response, and I understand the hurt I caused and am truly sorry," Duwaji said when pressed about her social media history.
The apology comes as Duwaji's offensive posts—including use of the N-word, homophobic slurs, and inflammatory anti-Israel rhetoric—have resurfaced amid increased scrutiny of the mayor's inner circle. While mainstream media outlets have largely ignored or downplayed the story, conservatives are asking why it took public pressure to force any acknowledgment of these deeply troubling statements.
Pattern of Radical Views
This controversy highlights the extremist ideology that permeates Mayor Mamdani's administration. The socialist mayor, who has pushed far-left policies since taking office, has surrounded himself with individuals whose past statements reveal a troubling pattern of antisemitism and racial insensitivity.
"When you lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas—and New Yorkers are seeing exactly what kind of radical ideology drives this administration," said one conservative activist.
The timing of this apology is particularly telling, coming as the Trump administration has made combating antisemitism a national priority. While President Trump strengthens America's relationship with Israel and fights against rising antisemitism, Democrat leaders in cities like New York continue to enable and associate with individuals who have promoted hateful rhetoric.
New Yorkers deserve better than leaders whose closest associates have a history of promoting division and hate. How many more skeletons are hiding in the closets of Mamdani's radical administration?
