As our nation marks its 250th birthday, a notion that once seemed nearly obsolete in America has resurfaced with a vengeance. Left-wing leaders are fantasizing about resurrecting big government, cloaked under terms like 'affordability' and 'antitrust', only to tighten the grip of bureaucracy and drain the liberty out of ordinary Americans.
A recent piece from PJ Media exposes this alarming trend, pointing to how certain factions are pushing to reinstate heavy-handed federal control in the name of economic justice. However, this regenesis of big government is precisely what patriots—those steadfast in their commitment to America First principles—have long resisted.
Conservative economist Vance Ginn hits the nail on the head, tweeting, "Ouch! Why do the ‘new right’ folks want to massively raise taxes on Americans during an affordability crisis driven by government spending, taxing, printing, and regulating? That approach will make the situation worse for Americans." Indeed, the irony seems lost on the Left, who continue to propose ways to expand Washington's power at the expense of taxpayers, even amidst an affordability crisis of their own creation.
To add to the chorus, social media user GregH points out that "All affordability issues are currently due to GOVERNMENT actions, especially from the Biden era. Bills don't go away because the Administration changes. The bills must be paid." His words resonate deeply with everyday Americans, who shoulder the burden of past administrative mismanagement.
It seems the Left's failure to recognize the true roots of economic woes is the same misguided thinking that fueled the bloated policies of the past. With Trump and Vance at the helm, however, we're witnessing a structural shift back to limited government, deregulation, and 'America First' sovereignty.
This pivot away from big government interference isn't just about economic growth—it's about restoring the fundamental rights of individuals to govern their own lives, free from heavy taxation and needless regulation. Oppression in the guise of state control will not go unchallenged.
As patriots, we must ask ourselves: will we allow the government to once again become a master, or will we uphold our nation's founding ethos of government for the people? The answer is up to us. Stay vigilant, America.
